WELCOME FROM MOHAMMED KHALIEL - THE FOUNDER OF ISLAMIX

Welcome to Islamix, a non profit organisation committed to promoting tolerance, cohesion and highlighting the positive reality of Islam, against the media message which sometimes spreads needless suspicion serving only to increase far right membership.

Islamix has been in the making for several years and has been forged from hard lessons learned.

Being involved with many Muslim and non-Muslim groups, one thing is apparent - in some areas the divide between Muslim and non-Muslim seems to be getting wider as communities become more insular and detached. 

There are approximately 60 million people in the UK, with 2 million Muslims.

Islamix focuses on all 60 million,  addressing their needs and concerns about Muslims and Islam, as well as any difficulties and confusion caused to Muslims by life and culture in the UK.

One fact is crucial.  Governments alone cannot solve the problems of community cohesion or extremism. Neither can a biased media.

The only way forward toward a safer world is for all faiths and communities to identify and unite against the organised or random evil that causes discord in communities, nationally and internationally that is perpetrated not only by individuals and groups but also by some governments.

There is much interest to understand Islam and Muslims in Europe and the USA given the continuous misinformation in the media driven by those with hidden motives and over-exposure given to a handful of extremists who do not represent the majority. There is a marked increase to learn the facts, as opposed to biased media coverage. The appetite for understanding is further enhanced by the visible growth of Islam in the western world faster than any other religion.

It is the aim of Islamix to increase understanding between Muslims and non-Muslims and deal with an enemy; arguably more sinister than even extremism - fear of each other. Islamix is working strategically, interacting with elected officials, governments and agencies. Yet it also works locally by promoting involvement from people who feel helpless and confused as they hear the daily news.

Islamix will engage in listening and fact finding exercises, to best understand and illuminate any matter most worrying to the majority community. It will bridge those differences by factual and honest interaction.
